The University of Bari promotes and regulates the transfer of knowledge generated within the institution using its own, public and/or private resources.
Even within the framework of European cooperation and integration with other research institutions, UniBA regards knowledge transfer as a third-mission activity linked to research outcomes across all fields of knowledge, aimed at applying these findings to the scientific, cultural, technological, economic and social development of the country and the local area.
The commercialisation of research results requires internal regulations at UniBA to govern the stages of generation, management and commercialisation of intellectual property, as well as the prerequisites, types, objectives and procedures of the various activities, with a view to incentivising and rewarding the inventive activity of UniBA staff, as defined below.
Knowledge transfer within UniBA is guided by the principles of maximising economic and social impact, ensuring the financial sustainability of the administrative organisation, promoting environmental sustainability, maintaining transparency in the management of intellectual property, developing its human and professional resources, and complying with national and European legislation on state aid.
